Any chance you’re thinking about heading down to Carmel for a little vacation?  I know of the perfect hotel for you to stay at!  Book your reservations for La Playa Carmel Hotel, in Carmel-by-the-Sea.  My girlfriend and fellow blogger Jyo (@cuppajyo), and I stayed for one night and wish we made our reservation for a few more nights.  We planned on shooting in Big Sur, California and decided to stay the night at this quaint hotel.  This beautiful Spanish styled hotel is a hidden little gem in Carmel.  Walking distance to the town and to the beach, so close where you can literally fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.

Jyo and I checked into our rooms and decided to take a little bike ride around town, where the hotel graciously accommodated us with bikes.  For our little bike ride I’m wearing my favorite little romper from Show Me Your Mumu (@showmeyourmumu), that I got from Criv boutique (@shopcriv) in Los Gatos, California.

After working up an appetite on our bike ride, we went happy hour at the hotel and had a gorgeous view of the hotel.  We saw other guest sitting outside enjoying cocktails or tea, plying with the life size chess game.  Yes, you read that correctly, life size chess pieces.  If I had stayed another night, I would have played a round or two with Jyo.  Instead we decided to check out the hotel pool.  Lucky for us, it was a gorgeous day in February, warm enough to go for a dip.  To our surprise the pool was heat, and its heated all year round!  I went all out with my swim suit and packed the funkiest one piece from Mink Pink (@official_minkpink) from Crive (@shopcriv).

As the sun began to fall over the blue painted horizon, Jyo and I decided to dress our best and treat ourselves to a little pre- Valentines Day dinner. I wore the perfect bell-bottom pants paring with a off the sleeves crop top both from Show Me Your Mumu (@showmeyouremumu) that I got from Criv (@shopcriv) I love the idea of staying at a hotel close enough into town where you can easily walk too, but being at a far enough distance to having silent nights.  Granted, Carmel is a quiet town in general, but we were sleeping closer to the ocean. I truly enjoyed my cozy bed, and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean coming from 3 blocks away, rather than listening to a continuous sound app to knock myself out.

Aside from the cozy ocean view hotel room, a major highlight at this hotel was the milk and cookies.  Call me crazy, but that was absolutely adorable!  We heard a quiet knock at the door, and someone was kind enough to deliver us with dessert.  Definitely put a smile on my face and became a cute little characteristic I’ll never forget.  After a night of planning our adventures for the following day in Bis Sur, we decided to wake up early and get a fresh start.  Sadly, we didn’t think to check on the roads after the major storms Northern California has been experiencing, to see if beaches and parks were opened or closed.  Lets just say, the only highlight of the night was surprising Jyo with our little pj set from Maison Du Soir  (@maisondusoir) from Bella Rosa Boutique (@bellarosalg).

Come morning, we were wide awake and ready for the Champagne Breakfast at the hotel for Valentines Day.  It was delicious with an omelet and freshly made waffle bar.  After over eating and dealing with a food coma, we went back to the room to prep for our Big Sur photoshoot.  Be sure to keep an eye out for those blogs coming soon.
