Palm Springs really is the perfect destination for a weekend get away. There are tons of amazing little boutique hotels spread throughout this fun city. Next up on my Palm Springs travel guide, La Serena Villas, in the heart of downtown. Originally built in 1933, this historical hotel has a fun new and luxurious vibe. My friend, Eric, and I fell in love with its beautiful Spanish style architecture and vibrant textures throughout the hotel. The big blue chandler made of beautiful natural stones was stunning and the colorful woven wicker baskets hanging as decor behind the front desk was a beautiful touch! Also, I noticed as we walked in there were bikes lined up for guests to rent. 100% I will be renting one and cruising up and down the Main Street!
Also, the lobby has a fun little shop! It’s filled with things you may have forgotten, such as organic sunscreen, sunglasses and hats, but beautiful accessories, and clothing! I noticed they carried one of my favorite Miami based designers, Pitusa! You almost don’t evened to pack a bag, they have everything in here!
The first thing Eric and I ordered were cocktails and the housemate guacamole, to start the adventure off right! I love tequila a lot and went for the Blood Orange Margarita with reposed, blood orange puree, lime juice, agave nectar with a ground chili rim. Eric order the Sage Sour made with ginger beer, sage, egg whites, lemon juice and rye whiskey. Both really refreshing and great for hot Palm Spring days! Plus, who doesn’t love chips and guacamole?! Eric and I both loved what we ordered for lunch. Fish tacos and spicy margaritas sounded like a perfect lunch, especially when its a great piece of swordfish and pineapple slaw. The LSV club was another perfect option for lunch with poblano, turkey, applewood bacon, pepper jack cheese and avocado. And you can assume we got the side of fries! Duh…
As you exit the lobby you see the pool first thing, with the hotel restaurant behind. It’s the perfect place for the pool because it is away from the bungalows and is a great view for the restaurant.
We checked into Villa 15 and made ourselves right at home! This adorable bungalow was PERFECT! The decor reminded me of an Anthropologie showroom and I wanted to take everything home with me. This villa was beyond spacious and perfect for 2 with a king sized bed, a kitchen with everything you need, and a private patio. Truly, this place would be ideal for a romantic get-away just with this patio alone. You have a fire pit, lounge chairs, and a jacuzzi or bath tub. The Villa is even perfect for a girls weekend since the couch is a queen sized pull out couch. Being on vacation doesn’t mean you have to skip your daily workout routine, and if you’re into yoga, La Serena Villas gives you yoga mats in your room to work out with! I thought that was a really cute touch. Plus, I loved seeing that they carry my favorite line, L’OCCITANE. These little bungalows are truly luxurious and perfect for a romantic getaway or a girls trip!
Eric and I truly enjoyed ourselves here at La Serena Villas. This would be my first choice when researching places in downtown Palm Springs. Who wouldn’t want to be greeted by Stella, or drinks blood orange margaritas with perfect views of the San Jacinto Mountains in your own private patio?!
