I can’t believe that we are already celebrating the Knuppe’s first wedding anniversary. This was a very special wedding for me to photograph, not just because of the tropical backdrop, but for the fact that the bride and I are college friends. Back at St. Mary’s College of California, we used to hangout, but we are closer now. Photographing her destination wedding was a huge honor.  She trusted me to do the job, and in the end we produced something more than I could have imagined. West Maui, Hawaii was a great destination for this wedding. It was hosted on his family’s coffee estate up on the hill over looking the gorgeous ocean. Who wouldn’t want the chance to shoot a fun wedding in Hawaii?! 

The ceremony was tucked under two palm trees with a tropical arbor. There were white orchids and palms tied to wood polls that had long white sheer drapes.  Photographing a traditional Hawaiian ceremony was fun, not just for its tropical wedding florals, but for the ceremony itself.  Did you know that they kiss a few times through the ceremony?  It was so fun capturing the bride and grooms big beaming smiles after each kiss.

After the two said I do, they enjoyed their own personal fresh coconuts to enjoy before we ran off to shoot our solo sunset images.  I thought having a coconut was cute and thoughtful for their wedding guests in that hot tropical climate. As the two hydrated we walked throughout the property to start capturing my favorite part of the day, the couples sunset shoot.  It was a fun session shooting throughout the coffee fields. This was definitely a unique couples shoot, one I will never forget.  

The bride wore a gown from Grace Loves Lace and it was the perfect style for this wedding. She had so much fun dancing around in it at the end of the night and the trail was gorgeous to photograph throughout the day. The bridesmaids and groomsmen who Show Me Your Mumu. The gentlemen had tropical patterned ties and the girls wore light blue long dresses.
