On October 3, 2019, I had the honor of photographing the love between Anne & Mitch. This traditional, Catholic wedding took place at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Burlingame, California. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready at the elegant Burlingame Country Club before the ceremony, and all guest returned for the reception.
As Anne got ready , she was amongst her friends, sister, mother, and 95 year old grandmother. Anne was in great spirits and had everyone laughing. It wasn’t until she read her note and opened her gift from Mitch, that made her tear up. Even I caught myself chocking up a bit. Once she collected herself again, her sister Caroline helped get her into her stunning wedding dress. I’ve never seen wedding dress that had pockets before! Anne’s mother came in to help with her veil, and tears began to gently roll down her face. It was the gasps coming from her bridesmaids first look that had her laughing again and ready for her father to see her for the first time. With beaming smiles, Anne waited outside fo the Burlingame Country Club for her Uber to the church’.yes, she took an Uber.
Mitch and his groomsmen got ready at a hotel not too far from the Burlingame Country Club. They watched football, drank whiskey and White Claws as they prepared Mitch for his big day. His groomsmen didn’t know what to buy Mitch for a wedding day gift, so they all pitched in and gave him a massive wad of cash! The perfect honeymoon gift!

One of my favorite moments throughout a wedding day is when the groom sees his bride to be for the first time, especially if they had not done a first look before the ceremony. Mitch took one look at Anne as she gracefully walked down the aisle with her father and he himself shed a few tears. The two laughed and cried as they exchanged vows and said ‘I do’.
Once the ceremony came to an end, the two exited the church to their vintage Rolls Royce, under a shower of rose pedals. When arriving back to the Burlingame Country Club the guests enjoyed a lovely cocktail hour with live music and delicious treats. What a beautiful night it was as the band played in the ballroom and laughter filled the dinning hall.

Every detail was perfect. From her ivory wedding dress with pockets, the floral bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, the clever his-and-her signature cocktails, to the playful Photo Booth. Truly, this wedding was one for the books!
