Destination Wedding at Sunriver Resort Featured on Style Me Pretty

I have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving, and today I’m excited to share something special! Style Me Pretty just published one of my 2024 Summer destination weddings, which took place at the stunning Sunriver Resort in Oregon. It feels like only yesterday that my team and I were up north capturing the love between this adorable couple.

This destination wedding is easily one of my top ten favorites—not just because the couple were total jokesters, constantly pulling pranks and cracking jokes, but because they had the CUTEST golden retriever puppy, Penny. If there’s one thing that could possibly outshine a bride on her wedding day, it’s an adorable dog!

The Welcome Event

The first night of this couple’s wedding weekend at Sunriver Resort truly set the tone for an unforgettable celebration. From the high energy among guests to the fabulous details and unexpected surprises, it was a night to remember! The welcome event was curated by the groom’s mother, and the theme was kept a total surprise. Her vision? One of the most unique table arrangements I’ve seen, tomatoes!

As both families are proudly Italian, she created a stunning Italian bistro theme that carried through the entire evening. From the tomato centerpieces to personalized linen napkins, Italian wines, and a thoughtfully curated menu, every detail was perfectly on-theme. The couple’s reaction when they walked through the door was priceless; they were absolutely blown away!

I absolutely loved what the couple wore the night before their wedding. Their style was a perfect blend of modern sophistication and vintage charm. The groom looked sharp in a tailored green blazer, paired with a playful woven tie that added a fun texture to his polished ensemble.

The bride, on the other hand, exuded elegance in her timeless and minimalist outfit. Her entire look incorporated vintage-inspired tones, yet all the pieces were from modern designers, creating a beautiful play on eras. One of my favorite details was her shoes; her sister’s delicate kitten heels, featuring wedding cakes in the heel. The sentimental touch made them even more special, as her sister had worn those same shoes at her own wedding years before.

After an intimate dinner with their family and bridal party, the couple joined the rest of their wedding guests in the courtyard for cocktails. The lively energy carried on as everyone mingled, received their custom swag bags, and listened to heartfelt speeches that set the tone for the celebratory weekend ahead.

These were, hands down, the ultimate destination wedding swag bags I’ve ever seen at a wedding! The custom logo of their dog Penny was nothing short of iconic, and what made them even more special was that the groom personally created every single item through his company. From custom pens and matchboxes to keychains, cups, and hats, each piece was both thoughtful and uniquely personal. It was such a meaningful gesture, showing their appreciation for their family and friends in the most creative way.

Despite being the coldest weekend in June, this wedding was absolutely perfect! From the high energy and chic details to the incredible swag bags and, most importantly—PENNY! The day started with Penny spending time with the groomsmen before the amazing dog sitter brought her to hang out with the bride. There’s truly nothing cuter than a golden retriever helping her bride mom get ready for the big day!

First look was so precious for so many reasons. Joey, being the comical jokester that he is, did a dramatic expression when the bride was revealed, which brought a big smile to her face. As they wandered through the fields for couples portraits, a dragonfly landed on her dress. In her family, a dragonfly symbolizes that her grandfather, who had recently passed, was present.

The ceremony was unbelievably amazing! The floral arrangements by Summer Robbins Flowers were stunning, with dramatic blooms and a beautiful touch of wildflowers that perfectly complemented the Sunriver region. To top it off, the couple made their vows a truly memorable moment by turning them into an impromptu stand-up comedy act. Their wedding guests were in stitches as the couple went down memory lane, sharing laughter and love throughout.

Let The Party Begin!

As the night continued into the reception, so did the surprises. The bride convinced the groom that they didn’t need a cake if they were having a dessert and cereal bar. Little did he know, this was all part of her plan to surprise him with a San Francisco Giants baseball-themed cake. The night was filled with fun and laughter, making it nearly impossible to steal them away for sunset photos. We managed to catch the last few minutes of Magic Hour, and it truly was… magical!

As a destination wedding photographer, sometimes I feel like I’ve seen it all. However, this wedding proved me wrong! From the infectious laughter, to the thoughtful swag bags, to their sweet dog Penny, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect destination wedding weekend. The luxurious floral arrangements added an extra layer of beauty to the day, with every detail carefully designed to complement the stunning surroundings. The vibrant blooms, lush textures, and thoughtful touches were a true reflection of the couple’s style and the magic of the location. Capturing these moments was an absolute dream.
