For the past 2 years now, my friend Jyo (@jyo_shankar), and I have spent a day exploring the beautiful Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe while on our visit. When we stay in Tahoe we stay at North Star and take the gondola ride up to the Ritz. It’s perfect being able to have both worlds. At Northstar, in the village, they have an ice skating rink, and there are a bunch of little shops and restaurants for families to enjoy. Up at the Ritz there are activities for kids to enjoy, but even more for adults too. They have my favorite restaurant, Manzanita and one of my favorites North Lake Tahoe spas, but most importantly, they have the most amazing home made marshmallows for s’mores.

Manzanita

Aside from going into the town of Truckee for dinning, I love to go to Manzanita at the Ritz Carlton. Get yourself one of their fun cocktails and/or a pressed juice, the leek potato rolls, the Manzanita Burger (or the impossible burger if you don’t eat beef like me), the fish, tacos, the tuna poke bowl, the filet minion sandwich (popular item), and if you’re feeling brave, order the warm s’more brownie. If you’re a foodie like me, you always have room for dessert.

Spa

The most unique part about the Ritz spa is the outdoor pool. Don’t worry, it’s heated and feels like a warm bath. You’ll just freeze for a moment outside of the water while running to your town. Side note: make sure the door is unlocked!! Jyo and I went outside and realized we forgot towels as the door closed behind. I had to call the front desk to come downstairs and unlock the door. HAHA! Good thing we had our robes!! I highly recommend taking advantage of all these amenities after your spa treatment. The facial was hydrating and the massage was relaxing, I truly couldn’t have asked for a better day!

S’MORES!!!

THE MOMENT WE HAD BEEN WAITING FOR ALL DAY!!! Last year I remember there was peppermint and this year it was cranberry. Honestly, I love community activities, and this is fun for any age. You can’t say no to a homemade s’more! Of course, I got myself a tasty hot toddy and Jyo got a hot chocolate to go with our little evening treat. It’s a delight to now only fill our bellies with sweet treats, but to share smiles and laughter with fellow guests.
