I’ve been to Mexico a lot, especially these past few months, but I have never had an adventure like this before! It was full of nonstop adrenaline rushing adventures thanks to the Xcaret Group. My friend Caroline (@sweetcarolinaj) and I had the honor of working with this group recently, and it was an amazing experience! This is one of the most well organized tourism group, targeting all of the main attractions in Cancun. Not only do they have fun activities, but they also have gorgeous hotels. It is an all inclusive wonder of Mexico!
There are multiple hotels on this one property. Caroline and I were privileged enough to be one of their highest ranked VIPs at Xcaret Arte. This BRAND NEW all inclusive property made you feel like you are tucked away in an exotic lagoon. You honesty felt one with earth because of all the sustainable qualities and perks. I loved walking around the property and seeing all of its beauty, but to be honest, Caroline and I got lost a few times! Being VIP guests, we had access to a butter who we would communicate with via WhatsApp. This is a millennials dream! He was able to find us, and bring us to where we needed to be…talk about next level luxury! This was a very beautiful adults only hotel. There was a concert each weekend night, and there is even a speak-easy on the property. Funny enough, no one really knew where the speak-easy was, and we went on a little adventure to find it. Very rewarding once we were able to find it! Overall a 10/10 hotel for everyone!
If you are worried about Covid, fear not. I know that is a lot to say and it’s a very personal opinion. This hotel was over the top taking cautious and I appreciated it. To enter Mexico right now you do not need any proof of a vaccine card, or even a negative Covid test, but to be a guest at the property you must show proof of a negative test 24 hours before arriving. Also, they check your temperature when you arrive, hang you a gift bag with a mask and hand sanitizer inside of them. Personally, my favorite was seeing a couple employees holding signs saying “Wear Your Mask” throughout the property. It was a great way to remind people, and even employ something rather than just posting a sign. Plus, they have an on site covid testing center, where you can schedule an appointment for your trip home!
Originally the plan as for Caroline and I to drive to Chicken Itza, the Xichen Tour. The down fall was that it was a good 2+ hours each way from the hotel the Chicken Itza, and since we has both already been, we set sail for Xhel-Ha (pronounced Shell-Ha). For those of you who have not been to Chicken Itza, you truly need to go! One of the Seven Wonders of the world- to me thats a no brainer! I would have loved to go, but since this was a press trip, we were only there for a few short nights working. Nonetheless, this just meant Caroline and I were about to explore something new together and we couldn’t wait! This was a last minute plan, which was changed only 8 hours before our pick up time, and without knowing much other than its a water park, we decided to only take videos this day. You can see my Instagram Reel of Xel-Ha here.
Let me paint you a picture of Xel-Ha…teal water, massive water slide, swimming with dolphins, cliff diving, sea TREK, and so much more… this family friendly water park is a fun holiday destination. I had a blast swimming, snorkeling, swinging, zip- linging and floating in Mayan cenotes. There are tons of activities throughout the entire property, which made us feel like we had the place to ourselves, even though there were a lot of people on site. Its a fun local hangout and for anyone who is visiting Mexico. Its Covid safe too! Sanitizer everywhere, keeping distant, and wearing a mask around the property. They made you feel comfortable and safe, which having fun splashing around!
This was another wld and fun day! Xcenotes picks you up from the hotel and brings you to 4 different cenotes. Whats BEAUTIFUL about this experience is behind the scenes, all of the tour drivers/guides are communicating with each other, making you no one overlaps at each place. By doing that, its keeping almost 2 groups at one site at a time. You honestly feel like you have a private tour. Xcenoties brings you to 4 fun unique natural water parks: Kaak (fire), Luum (earth), Ha (water), and Iik (wind) . Each park offered different experiences. From kayaking, to zip-lining into Mayan cenotes in underground caves, to snorkeling, and so much more! My only complaint was driving around from place to place. One was 25 minutes away, while two were only 5 minutes from one another. Just because it was so organized and the buses were not too big, I didn’t mind running around. Also, I still felt comfortable during Covid to participate in an activity like this. The fact that they did keep everyone distant from the other groups really felt like the full VIP experience.
For more examples from this fun filled day, check out my Instagram Reel.
Be sure to book your stay at one of the 3 Xcaret hotels (1 is family friendly, and the others are adult only), and book your tickets for any of the Xcaret Group adventures. All in all, I had THE BEST TIME, and wish I had more more days to try other parks! Plus, one day I will go back to Chicken Itza and swim around the 4 main cenotes there too! Stay tuned for more adventures to come!!
