When it comes to picking out your engagement shoot location, think of something unique or that relates to you as a couple. What are things you like to do together? Or, where are some places you like to go too? Do you know someone who has a unique vintage car, or something that no one else will have?

My clients recently shot their engagement photos at a family friends estate. This gorgeous property in Portola Valley looked like we had teleported to England where they had an art initiation throughout the entire property. There were gorgeous statues everywhere. I shot around them and decided to use the trees and hills. Can you blame me? That tree and the open fields made me feel like I stepped out of a Jane Austen novel. It was so inspirational to shoot their engagement portraits here. Plus, it’s a place that will forever be special to just them.

Fear not, if you do not have anything unique that comes to mind, we can always create something! We could bring a bike with a basket full of flowers for a Spring time engagement session, or we could bring a blanket to a really pretty beach. It’s as easy as that to make it unique for yourselves!
