Editorial imagery for couples saying “I do” across Carmel Valley — from oak-shaded ranches to Spanish-tile haciendas.
There is no place quite like Carmel Valley for a wedding. Sun-warmed stone, century-old olive groves, oak-shaded meadows, vineyard rows that catch the late afternoon light, the soft hush of the Carmel River — Carmel Valley is a region built for romance, and a Carmel Valley wedding is a story you’ll tell your grandchildren.
I’m Paulina — an award-winning luxury wedding photographer creating editorial, story-driven imagery for couples and families across Carmel Valley, the Monterey Peninsula, and beyond. Whether you’re planning a Holman Ranch hacienda wedding, a Stonepine Estate château celebration, an intimate Carmel-by-the-Sea ceremony, or a grand Carmel Valley Ranch weekend, I’m here to make sure your photographs feel as timeless and atmospheric as the valley itself.
With Paulina Perrucci as your Northern California Luxury Wedding Photographer
Carmel Valley is one of the most extraordinary places in California to get married — and one of the most extraordinary places to be photographed. The light here is famously soft and golden. The hills are layered with oak, vineyard, and stone. The pace slows down in the best possible way. It’s a region that already knows how to be beautiful — your wedding photographs almost write themselves.
Carmel Valley weddings have an unhurried, cinematic rhythm. Long lunches bleed into golden hour. Candlelit dinners stretch beneath the oak canopy. Late-night portraits unfold in the olive grove or along stone hacienda walls. There’s time and space for the kind of imagery that doesn’t happen at a tightly scheduled domestic wedding.
Carmel Valley is full of breathtaking places to get married. From storied ranches to French-inspired châteaux, here are the venues I’ve photographed — and the ones I love most.
Holman Ranch is the heart of Carmel Valley — a 1928 Spanish Colonial hacienda set on more than 400 acres of vineyards, olive groves, and rolling Monterey County hills. I’ve photographed two weddings here, and I keep falling in love with it. Hand-cut Carmel stone, cathedral-tall olive trees, hacienda courtyards, and that famous late-afternoon light slipping between the vines. Holman Ranch rewards slow, atmospheric storytelling — exactly the kind of imagery this property was made for.
Stonepine Estate is Carmel Valley at its most cinematic — the former Crocker family equestrian estate, now a 330-acre private château retreat. Château Noel hosts only one wedding at a time, with formal gardens, a stable yard, and views that stretch across the entire valley. The European symmetry, the patina, the equestrian heritage — there is nothing else like it in Northern California.
Carmel Valley Ranch is the valley’s most celebrated full-service resort — 500 acres of oak-studded hills, lavender fields, working apiaries, and one of the most photogenic Pete Dye golf courses on the West Coast. Couples come here for multi-day weekends: welcome dinners under string lights, ceremonies overlooking the valley, receptions that feel both elevated and unhurried. Every corner of the property tells a different story.
Gardener Ranch is one of Carmel Valley’s most quietly romantic estates — a 400-acre property tucked along the Carmel River with creek-side ceremony spaces, ancient oaks, and meadows that turn gold in the evening light. The property feels intimate and protected, almost like a private nature preserve. A place where you can hear the creek during vows.
Just down the road, Carmel-by-the-Sea brings its own kind of romance — fairytale cottages, white-sand beaches, cypress-lined coastline, and the historic Carmel Mission. Couples celebrate at Mission Ranch, La Playa Hotel, the Carmel Mission, and intimate beachfront elopements. Pebble Beach and the Lodge at Pebble Beach are minutes away — Lone Cypress, coastal cliffs, golden dune grass, and that unmistakable Pacific light. Some of my favorite engagement and couples sessions have happened along 17-Mile Drive.
Northern California's coast is dotted with the kind of estates couples dream about. Bernardus Lodge & Spa brings vineyard luxury and Michelin-level dining to the heart of Carmel Valley. The Santa Lucia Preserve, 20,000 private acres of gated coastal wilderness, is one of the most exclusive wedding destinations on the West Coast. The Lodge at Pebble Beach offers Pacific cliffs, cypress, and old-world grandeur. Sea Ranch Lodge carries the same quiet, architectural beauty further up the Northern California coast. Other dream destinations include Post Ranch Inn, Ventana Big Sur, Casa Palmero at Pebble Beach, and The Inn at Spanish Bay.
Further south along Highway 1, San Simeon and Hearst Castle round out the Central Coast. The road continues into Santa Ynez wine country — to The Inn at Mattei's Tavern (an Auberge Resorts property) and Sunstone Winery — and on to Santa Barbara, where San Ysidro Ranch, Rosewood Miramar Beach, Belmond El Encanto, and the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara remain some of California's most legendary luxury wedding destinations. All places I'm always happy to travel to as well.
My work blends editorial elegance with documentary storytelling. Expect unhurried portraits in golden California light. Candid frames of real laughter and real tears. The quiet, observed details: the handwritten vows tucked in a pocket. The dress catching morning light in the window. The wind catching a veil on a hillside. I work calmly and discreetly. My presence lets you forget the camera is there. You stay in the moment with the people you love.
I photograph with an editorial eye but a documentary heart. The result feels both elevated and deeply personal. Wedding photographs you’ll still want hanging on your walls in twenty years.

I love photographing pre-wedding and engagement sessions along the Monterey coast. Pebble Beach and 17-Mile Drive deliver some of the most cinematic light in California — Lone Cypress at golden hour, dune grass bending in the ocean wind, weathered fairways, and that pale, oceanic Pacific haze. Carmel-by-the-Sea adds storybook architecture, white sand, and cypress-lined streets. For couples planning a Carmel Valley wedding, a Pebble Beach engagement session is the perfect prelude — same regional aesthetic, two completely different visual worlds.

Absolutely! Most of my Carmel Valley couples plan multi-day events: rehearsal dinner Friday, ceremony and reception Saturday, farewell brunch Sunday. Holman Ranch, Carmel Valley Ranch, and Stonepine Estate are all built for full-buyout weekends. We’ll figure out what works best for your wedding during our consultation.
Most couples choose May, June, September, or October. Warm without being hot, with long golden-hour evenings and dry, predictable weather. July and August are stunning but warmer. Fall in Carmel Valley is famously cinematic — the light, the dry hills, the harvest air.
For peak-season weddings at top Carmel Valley venues, I recommend booking 8 to 12 months out. Stonepine Estate, Holman Ranch, and Carmel Valley Ranch tend to hold the earliest dates, and luxury photographers in this region book on a similar timeline.
Yes! In addition to Carmel Valley, I photograph luxury weddings throughout Northern California — Napa Valley, Sonoma, Big Sur, San Francisco, Pebble Beach — and travel internationally for select destination clients across Italy, France Mexico, and the Caribbean.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding somewhere in Carmel Valley, I’d love to hear from you. If you’ve already booked your venue, your hacienda, your château, your hilltop ranch, even better. Let’s tell its story!
