Editorial imagery for couples saying “I do” across Ireland — from Dublin castles to the cliffs of the west.
There is no place quite like Ireland for a wedding. Mossy walled gardens, stone castles older than memory, soft Atlantic light, the smell of peat fires and wild grass, a countryside so green it looks unreal — Ireland is a country built for slow, atmospheric love stories, and an Irish wedding is the kind of weekend your guests will talk about for years.
I’m Paulina — an award-winning international wedding photographer creating editorial, story-driven imagery for couples and families across Ireland and beyond. Whether you’re planning a castle wedding outside Dublin, a country house celebration in the Irish midlands, a cliffside elopement on the Wild Atlantic Way, or an intimate ceremony in a private walled garden, I’m here to make sure your photographs feel as timeless and atmospheric as the country itself.
With Paulina Perrucci as your Destination Wedding Photographer
Ireland is one of the most cinematic countries in the world to get married in — and one of the most cinematic places to be photographed. The light here is soft and patient, the kind photographers travel for. Stone walls have stood for five hundred years. Castles are still privately owned and still hosting weddings. Gardens are heavy with moss and old roses. The country already knows how to be beautiful. Your photographs almost write themselves.
Irish weddings have an unhurried, soulful rhythm. Ceremonies in chapels older than most countries. Long dinners that drift into late-night dancing. Sunday brunches in the same drawing room your guests woke up in. There’s time for the kind of imagery a tightly scheduled domestic wedding rarely allows. There’s depth and atmosphere built into every frame.
Ireland is small, but every corner has its own atmosphere. From private castles outside Dublin to the cliffs of the west coast, here are the regions I serve and the venues I love most:
Just outside Dublin, the Irish countryside opens into rolling green farmland, ivy-covered stone, and the kind of country lanes that curve out of sight. Couples are drawn to County Wicklow, County Kildare, and the broader Dublin region for their character and accessibility — close to an international airport, with centuries of romance built into every estate. The land rewards slow, observant storytelling. Exactly the kind of imagery this region was made for.
Ireland is one of the few countries in the world where you can still get married inside a working private castle. Luttrellstown Castle, the storied 15th-century estate just outside Dublin, hosts some of the most cinematic weddings in Europe. Ashford Castle, on the shores of Lough Corrib in County Mayo, brings classic luxury and lakeside drama. Dromoland Castle in County Clare carries centuries of history into every frame. Each castle brings its own atmosphere to the day.
Ireland’s country houses and walled gardens are a category of their own. Gloster House, a Georgian estate in County Offaly, offers a quieter, more intimate grandeur and is one of the most photographable houses on the island. Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow is one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. Ballyfin Demesne is the rare estate that takes only one wedding party at a time — mossy stone, formal lawns, a private lake. Tankardstown House blends a Georgian manor with modern design and a kitchen that has earned its own following. These are venues where the setting feels woven into the story.
The west coast of Ireland is the country at its most dramatic. The Cliffs of Moher rising 700 feet straight out of the Atlantic. The Ring of Kerry threading past sea and mountain. The Dingle Peninsula at golden hour. The Wild Atlantic Way itself, threading the entire west coast from County Cork up to Donegal. These are the views that have defined Irish romance for generations — and the backdrops elopements were practically made for.
Connemara is Ireland’s wildest, most lake-stitched landscape — bogland, mountain, and a quality of light that doesn’t exist anywhere else. Galway adds the city counterpart: medieval streets, Galway Bay, oyster bars, and traditional music in every doorway. Couples who want their wedding to feel rooted in old Ireland often gravitate here. The west of Ireland rewards photographs that take their time.
My work doesn’t end at the Irish Sea. Many couples who fall in love with Ireland also love what lies just across the water. England offers some of the most cinematic wedding settings in the world: the Cotswolds with their honey-colored stone villages, English country houses from Oxfordshire to Devon, castle weddings from Northumberland to Cornwall, the Lake District in late summer, and London for couples who want a city wedding with a centuries-old backdrop. Scotland’s highlands and Wales’s coastlines are equally within reach. If your wedding takes you anywhere across Ireland, England, Scotland, or the wider British Isles, I travel for it.
My work blends editorial elegance with documentary storytelling. Expect unhurried portraits in the soft, slow Irish light. Candid frames of real laughter and real tears. The quiet, observed details: the handwritten vows tucked in a pocket. The dress catching morning light against a stone wall. A first kiss under an arched garden gate. I work calmly and discreetly. My presence lets you forget the camera is there. You stay in the moment with the people you love.
I photograph with an editorial eye but a documentary heart. The result feels both elevated and deeply personal. Wedding photographs you’ll still want hanging on your walls in twenty years.

Ireland weddings, particularly castle and country house weddings in peak season (May to October), are typically booked 9 to 18 months in advance. Reach out as early as you can to lock in your date.
Both are options. Many international couples handle their legal paperwork at home and have a symbolic ceremony in Ireland. It’s often simpler and equally meaningful. Others choose to navigate Ireland’s legal process, which requires at least three months’ advance notice to a Registrar and a short list of documents your wedding planner can walk you through. Whichever route you choose, I photograph the day exactly as it unfolds.
Most couples choose May, June, September, or October. Mild temperatures, long golden hours, gardens in full bloom, and the lowest chance of all-day rain. July and August are warm and busier with tourists. Winter weddings in Ireland can be magical and quieter, especially in castles with open fires and candlelight.
Travel arrangements vary by collection and destination. Some couples include flights and accommodations in the package. Others coordinate directly with their venue or room block. We’ll figure out what works best for your wedding during our consultation.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding somewhere in Ireland, I’d love to hear from you. If you’ve already booked your castle, your country house, your cliffside elopement, even better. Let’s tell its story.
