Wow, this bride was so lucky with the weather up in Sacramento, California for her wedding at Granite Bay Golf Club. Apparently it had been raining all week long, and her wedding day was beautiful! I had driven up from San Jose, California, and all the vendors joked that I brought the good weather. I definitely brought good energy, thats for sure!! What a stunning day it was! Every last detail was perfect. From the brides diamond wedding ring, to her wedding dress, to her Jimmy Choo wedding shoes, the NHL Stanley Cup wedding cake, to even the wedding florals. Her wedding bouquet had little diamonds mixed in with the flowers, which added a nice little unique touch. The best part was the perfectly overacted for my photos, everyone was in good spirits, the flowers were gorgeous, the cake was delicious, and the bride looked stunning! My favorite part of the day was during the bride and grooms first look. The groom had been bugging the bride for months to see her dress, but as we all know, the groom cant see the wedding dress until the day of their wedding. The second the groom turned around to get a first look at his bride-to-be he laughed, started to cry, and laughed again saying, ‘you said there was no train’, when in fact her train was SO LONG!’. The bride has a little evil giggle as she leans in to give him a big kiss, so proud that she was able to through his vision off. It was cute to see their relationship grow from when we first did the engagement shoot up until now. That’s what love is, growing with someone, and thats exactly what they are doing.
Aside from the first look, I absolutely loved the lighting we had for our sunset wedding photographs. Normally, I feel rushed during this time of day, but because Granite Bay Golf Club’s staff was so perfectly organized, we had more than enough time to explore the golf course and take wedding photos. We even had golf carts to cruise around in and even use as a prop for their wedding images. At one point I joked about getting them to run across the gol course, but the bride was into the idea! She kicked off her Jimmy Choo wedding shoes, and started sprinting across Granite Bay Golf Club’s course. We were all dying laughing as we start running back and forth to get the perfect photograph. Our final spot for sunset wedding photographs was on the bridge heading back towards the club house. As the sunset over the golf course pond, you can see the fluffy cotton candy colored clouds reflect in the water. This truly was a romantic wedding and I was beyond grateful to have captured their love.
