For example, the wedding I photographed flowed between both spaces, and the contrast was one of the most beautiful things about the day. Guests were continuously wowed as they moved from one world to the next, and as a photographer, I had an endlessly varied backdrop to work with.

From there, cocktail hour by the pool felt effortless and sun-soaked. Dinner moved into the Motor Court, a stunning open-air space. Once tables, florals, and candlelight are in place, it transforms completely. As the night stretched on, dancing moved to the back courtyard, where things got looser and more fun. Each space signals a natural shift in the evening. The party just moves, and guests follow.

This is the number one thing I wish I had known before shooting here. The property is expansive, spanning hundreds of acres with multiple event spaces spread across the grounds. There is no cell service on the property. Walkie-talkies often will not reach from Double H Ranch up to Chateau Noel. Request a golf cart when booking your event logistics. It is a game-changer for photographers, coordinators, and anyone moving quickly between locations. Don’t assume you’ll have one. Ask upfront.

2. Make sure Your Wedding Planner Knows the Property 
This venue requires a great planner and day-of coordinator. The scale and complexity demand it. With multiple event locations and no cell service, do a walkthrough with your planner beforehand. It will give everyone a much better understanding of how the weekend will flow.

3. Plan Your Guest Transportation
Guest transportation is a smart part of the plan, especially for guests staying off-property. Many couples provide charter buses or shuttles from Carmel and Carmel Valley accommodations. There is no parking for guests staying off site, and ride-shares and taxis are not allowed on the property.
