Working with Caitlin McDonald Events and Friday Flowers, Cailley and Jacob’s vision unfolded as a true progression through the day. First, cocktail hour opened with heirloom tomatoes spilling from the estate fountain, a playful and unexpected nod to Jacob’s Italian roots. Then, by the time guests moved into the reception, the palette had deepened into rich, wine toned reds. Dahlias, hydrangea, and orchids arrived in shades that felt more Tuscan bistro than traditional ballroom. It was a monochromatic story from start to finish, and it never once felt repetitive. Instead, it felt intentional.

The Bride’s Personal Touches That Made This Red Wedding Unforgettable

What made this wedding especially meaningful wasn’t just the palette. It was how Cailley layered her own story into it.

She chose Christian Louboutin heels specifically for their red soles. She also hand-painted the ceremony fans herself, and painted her nails a deep red to match. Then, in one of the sweetest details of the day, her place cards sat atop wine corks collected by her grandfather over the years, a quiet way of bringing him into the celebration.

Cocktail hour brought another deeply personal touch: a custom three-panel tribute display. One panel, titled “Celebrated Here Before,” honored Jacob’s parents, who had their own wedding photos taken at Villa Montalvo years earlier. A second panel, “Celebrating From Above,” remembered family members who had passed. The third, “Celebrating With Us Today,” paid tribute to Cailley’s parents and their own wedding anniversary. The couple said “I do” on Villa Montalvo’s iconic colonnade, framed by white hydrangea, calla lilies, and cascading amaranth. Throughout, pops of red and burgundy carried through the aisle arrangements, keeping the day’s color story present even in the ceremony’s softer moments.

Afterward, the reception unfolded on the estate’s terrace, styled to feel like an Italian bistro. String lights, bistro chairs, and that same deep red palette carried through the tablescapes, menus, and place settings. Guests dined on a menu from Le Papillon Catering, danced the night away with Los Gatos DJ and Photo Booth, and celebrated with a dessert spread from La Vie Douce Design.

One of the evening’s most emotional moments came when Cailley’s father rose to give a thank you speech, dedicating it to Jacob’s father, who had passed away. There was not a dry eye in site. Later, the father-daughter dance carried its own quiet tribute to Jacob’s Italian heritage, set to Andrea Bocelli’s opera.
